My favorite time of year is brewing: the end of summer, and the beginning of fall. And like Mariah Carey preparing to defrost for the Christmas season, my fall wardrobe, in all of its black/brown/cashmere/suede/leather glory, is slowly but surely starting to rise from the dead. Is that an angelic hymn I hear in the distance? Thought so.
Speaking of fall fashion, Cos–one of my long-time apparel go-tos–is really doing it for me lately. During a late-night (or, actually, early morning, oops) scroll yesterday evening, I screenshotted all my favs–and several of them very closely resemble pieces from The Row, with a sense of simple, understated refinement and ease.
Wide-Leg Drawstring Denim Pants | Swing Crossbody Leather Bag | Parachute Blouse | Suede Jacket | Facade Jeans | Chunky Cashmere Crew Neck Jumper | Chunky Mariner Pendant Necklace
Here are 19 things currently in my cart:
Suede Jacket
I, like many others, am madly in love with buttery suede in various shades of brown. It feels very nostalgic and 70s to me (is it possible to be nostalgic for a time in which I did not exist?) I have a vintage jacket that looks almost identical to this that I love and get so much wear out of during the fall.
Denim Jacket
I love the look of an oversized, structured denim jacket with slightly mismatched jeans. And I really appreciate how sleek and minimal this appears.
Facade Jeans
I live for baggy denim–and this pair reminds me of The Row Eglitta Jean.
Leather Rope Belt
The smallest details can transform an outfit-even a little leather rope belt you tie around your coat.
Trimmed Car Coat
I have a special place in my heart for car coats as a former PR person at Oscar de la Renta (the man loved a car coat, and now so do I). This one is so simple and chic.
Parachute Blouse
I love the silhouette, and the hue, of this blouse. I’d probably style it with a pair of black tapered trousers and a kitten heel, or a pair of overalls.
Wool-Blend Cape
I’m happy to see they’ve brought this back for another F/W season as it’s one of my favorite pieces from last year. I love cinching it with a skinny black belt. It also comes in grey!
Wide-Leg Drawstring Denim Pants
I’ve been having fun lately with drawstrings and shoelaces as belts, and I love these red trousers. They remind me a bit of The Row Chan pants.
Scarf Detail Wool Turtleneck Jumper
One thing about me is that a cape or scarf detail is my weakness.
Chunky Cashmere Crew Neck Jumper
A chunky crew-neck grey sweater in winter is, to me, the cold weather equivalent of a great white t-shirt in the summertime. And this one is nearly identical to The Row Ophelia sweater (and a fraction of the price).
Wide-Leg Drawstring Pants
These with a matching button-down or a grey sweater and/or a trench coat, paired with suede loafers, will be a great transitional-weather outfit on those days when it’s too chilly for proper summer clothing, and too warm for fall layers. These remind me of The Row Hubert Pants.
Wool Polo Shirt
It’s probably the recovering catholic school girl in me, but I love a polo shirt, particularly of the wool and/or cashmere variety. This one is so chic and looks very similar to The Row Harlette Sweater.
Sculpted Cuff
I’ve been really enjoying wearing thick, sculptural cuffs over a sleeve and am looking forward to fall when we can actually comfortably wear said long sleeves.
Wrap Front Wool Trousers
I adore the cut of these trousers, and the belt detail gives me a hint of Ann Demeulemeester and Peter Do.
Leather Racer Bolero
Thanks to my extensive past in ballet, I will forever have a soft spot for a bolero. And in leather? Spectacular, give me 14 of them right now.
Wide-Leg Drawstring Trousers
More wide-leg trousers but in a delicious chocolate brown color.
Chunky Mariner Pendant Necklace
I’ve been wearing random things around my neck all year, and this is next.
Funnel Neck Boiled Wool Coat
I want you to imagine this coat paired with a little black pillbox hat à la Catherine Deneuve in Belle de Jour.
Tie-Neck Jersey Top
I’m a sucker for a turtleneck, and this tie detailing is a sweet and demure little treat.
Swing Crossbody Leather Bag
I’ve had–and love–this bag for a few years now. It reminds me a lot of The Row Slouchy Banana Bag.
Cos is definitely on a roll right now! Loved seeing all your picks
I somehow own 80% of this list from the past few Cos visits which makes me pleased to know I’m on the right path !! Xoxo
